'exit Steam and go to the folder Users//Library/Application Support/Steamĭelete all of the files in this folder except for SteamApps. Had no impact.ģ) Going into application support, deleting all program files and then restarting steam to get it to reset. Seems to me like its an issue on Valve's end, but not sure if anyone has suggestions of fixes.ġ) Checking to make sure network is setup correctly (I was able to install at one point last night so network shouldn't be the issue).Ģ) Uninstalling and reinstalling Steam. I waited until late last night and was able to install dota 2, but today there was an update and had the same connection issue again. Steam works fine, but installs and downloads don't work.
I've been having this problem the past two days. Originally posted by jt:Hi, I just downloaded steam on Mac perfectly fine, but when I try to download any games I get an error saying 'an error occurred while installing game (connection time out).' I'm usually on PC and on the same wi-fi, so I'm not sure why the connection is timing out.
